Our purpose

Small Church Helps exists to help and encourage small churches and other small ministries. Having been a missionary, a pastor of small churches, and an evangelist I have a lot of insight into the special needs of smaller ministries.
This site is a growing ministry so check back often.
My special area of expertise is using the internet to enhance and expand your ministry. I have been building and hosting websites for more than 20 years. Because I have always been involved in small ministries with a limited budget I understand the needs of those with tight budgets.
I also understand that pastors of small ministries are very busy people and don’t have time to learn the code necessary to build a website and have very little time to keep one up to date. For the last 20 years I have been helping just such people build attractive websites and keep them up to date with very little effort.
In truth, how important is a website to a church? I recently retired from pastoring a church in Washington state and moved to North Carolina. I though finding a good church in the “Bible Belt” would be a relatively easy thing. I started my search on the internet and found that half of the Baptist churches in our little town did not have a website. There are at least 90 Baptist churches in our town of about 18,000 and if I went to one a week to check them out it would have taken me almost two years. Those without websites did not get visited even though we may have bypassed a really good church.
There are other reasons for a church to have a website which you can read about in my post on why a church should have a website.

Excuses For Not Having A Website

  • I don’t have time to mess with a website – Our Simple Site Solution solves this problem.
  • It is difficult to find someone willing and able to do the work – Once our Simple Site Solution is set up it takes very little time and very little skill to keep your site up to date and we will train whoever does it.
  • It’s too costly – Our Simple Site Solution is less expensive than a small ad in the Yellow Pages and much more effective.
  • The Internet is an evil place – The world is an evil place but that doesn’t mean we don’t live in it. A good online ministry can reach some of those “evil people” for Christ.
  • I don’t see any need for a website – Read my article on why churches need websites.
  • Too hard to keep up to date – Our training will show you how to do this with very little effort.
